Practical Advantages of SprayPASS Certification:

  • Nationally Recognised Certification.
  • Certification should provide a competitive advantage for contractors through access to work and preferred supplier status
  •   Improved knowledge and skills in pesticide application and use will increase the long term sustainability of pesticide use.
  •  Demonstration of stewardship will provide evidence to Australian exporters for possible serious flow on implications arising from the 2009 Directive of the European Parliament “Framework for Community action to achieve sustainable use of pesticides” which requires all EU member countries to implement by 2016 appropriate training, best practice pesticide management and certification schemes (including the certification of application equipment) among other things.
  • Participation and implementation of best practice may be evidence of Duty of Care in the event of litigation.
  • Certified groundsprayers would have access to template documentation (e.g. spray records etc.) which could easily be tailored to their business, and which would meet the requirements of legislation and industry QA programs thereby saving costs.
  • Access to cutting edge professional development and resources.

  • Proactive industry-led Stewardship may prevent the implementation of adverse government regulations.
  • Provide the AGA with a high level of authority for representation to government bodies.
  • Training and improved record keeping would enhance the evidence of due diligence in the event of litigation.
  • Facilitate access to permits e.g. pesticides use in sensitive areas, off label use etc.
